The Boxer Lab at the Memory and Aging Center in the Department of Neurology, Weill Institute of Neurosciences at UCSF seeks to hire motivated postdoctoral scholars with an interest in fluid biomarker for neurodegenerative disease to work on projects related to fluid biomarker discovery from multimodal and multi-omic datasets from patients with frontotemporal lobar degeneration, Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders, and biomarker validation from similar populations using clinical, imaging and fluid biomarker datasets from multicenter longitudinal natural history studies and interventional clinical trials led by our group including ARTFL LEFFTDS Longitudinal FTLD (ALLFTD) and the FTD Prevention Initiative (FPI).

Qualifications/Preferred Skillsets

We seek to hire both bench scientists, with laboratory assay development experience and/or individuals with biostatistical/bioinformatics expertise who can analyze existing datasets. An ideal candidate would be qualified for both types of work.

Candidates should have a PhD or MD/PhD degree in neuroscience, molecular or cell biology, clinical chemistry or a related field, with a strong track record of prior publications. Prior experience in neurodegenerative disease and/or fluid biomarker development would be preferred. Experience with protein quantification in fluids and tissues using technologies such as Simoa, Mass Spec and/or ELISA is also preferred.
